Jewel milkweed, Asclepias cryptoceras
30 min drive and 20 min hike gets me to a park that has asclepias cryptoceras. This particular plant is clinging to the south facing slope and is a few feet above the bottom of the canyon. The soil is loose and filled with rocks. Blooms come early. Blooms occur in May and are brilliant for almost the entire month of May, depending on the weather. I took this video on May 19, 2017. The recording was done live in Instagram so there are some references to viewers and I repeat myself to welcome new viewers to the video.
