Arizona milkweed is a southern Arizona endemic milkweed. The habitat is riparian streams at low to mid elevations. The milkweeds native range is only within Arizona in the United States. In Mexico the plant grows in every state. Arizona milkweed has been demonstrated to grow well in Las Vegas, Texas and California gardens. It can be grown in frost free locations. In zones with frost the plant will drop leaves. Hard freezes may require the plant be grown from seed each year. This heat loving milkweed can grow with very little water but prefers to grow in a part shade location with irrigation to the roots

The seeds have been stored dry at room temperature. Milkweed seed viability remains high for most of a decade. The one gram packets contain approximately 100 seeds of Asclepias speciosa.

Milkweed tree, Calotropis procera seeds
Calotropis procera 25 seeds. Collected in Kauai Hawaii in 2024. Common names include Giant milkweed, Sodom's Apple, Dead Sea Apple, Rooster Tree, Rubber Bush and Milkweed tree. Zone 10-11 plant will like special treatment in colder zones during winter. Can be grown in an island (container). Blooms in under a year. Seed germinates in fewer than four days. Plant will continue to grow for many years when protected from cold weather.
If you have grown common milkweed, showy milkweed or tropical milkweed from seed then you will find this seed very easy to grow.

These seeds originate in Winters California on Hedgerow Farms who has a local, to me, distributer Nature's Seed in Lehi Utah. I visited Nature's Seed in August 2023. After verifying the quality of the seed, in-person, I decided it meets the quality standards to sell in my shop.
A final mesh screening for fine particles is done by hand followed by intricate removal up to 11% on non-milkweed, inert particles, mostly stems, coma, leaves and bugs. The end product is seed product I am proud to offer.
The lead time from harvest to market is long. Plan for the 2023 seed harvest to be available here between March and May 2024. Seed viability remains stable for five to ten years.
