Quick Germination Guide — Asclepias californica californica
Hydrate seeds: Soak in warm water or a damp paper towel at 75°F for 48 hours.
Expose root: Gently clip or peel back the seed coat to free the root tip without damaging it.
Encourage root growth: Place seed in damp paper towel on a plate. Keep moist and warm (75–85°F). Cover loosely with plastic to reduce evaporation.
Transition to substrate: When root grows, place in well-draining medium (perlite works well). Keep seed above the surface. Cover with plastic until leaves appear.
Grow on: Once leaves form, remove cover. Provide bright light and warmth.
