October Expenses: $3,814.89 This is the highest monthly spending, ever, for Grow Milkweed Plants. Fall is the best time to purchase fresh milkweed seeds. More seeds and more varieties of seeds allows me to offer better pricing and increase the value per order. Higher order value drives unit costs down which is fantastic. Average order value is $24. That is a 33% increase from a year ago.
February Income: $1,566.95 of which $1,075.99 was seed sales. $423.42 is hold/release authorizations and has a zero net effect on income and expenses. Purple, Showy & Common were the most profitable seed while Showy, Common & Swamp sold the most volume. Google AdSense income of $101.03 Amazon Affiliate income was $22.41
February Expenses: $1,357.47 Although taxes are not due till April 15th I deducted $330 from the account to pay for 2018 income tax. As a sole propitiator I simply add my business income to line 21 of Schedule 1 Form 1040. $194.67 purchasing shipping materials which should last thru 2019. The boxes cost nearly $.50 each but have a net savings of nearly $4 by lower the cost of postage. A pair of hats was purchased for $75.56 to be worn as a marketing tool and as protection from the sun while growing milkweed plants.
January Income: $1,284.10 of which $1,041.99 was seed sales. Powered by strong sales of Purple milkweed, Showy milkweed and Mexican whorled milkweed. The latter has sold out for 2019.
