This heat loving milkweed can grow with very little water but prefers to grow in a part shade location with irrigation for best results. Redring milkweed, Asclepias variegata 10 seeds
10 seeds of Asclepias variegata. Redring milkweed. Seed sourced in Arkansas. A shade loving milkweed that grows under a canopy of dappled light or mostly shaded conditions. Good looking seed. Fickle seed to germinate and grow. Strongly recommend direct sowing seed in the fall and letting nature germinate the seed in its own time. Strongly discourage attempting to grow this seed outside of the plants native range because precipitation and humidity will not favor the plant's needs. Established root tuber becomes very hardy. White flowers with a red ring. Disclaimer: water germination has not proven effective for this seed and species. Germination is not guaranteed. No instructions will be included with the seeds. If grown outside the native range failure is eminent. These seeds are sold as is with no guarantee they will grow. The person who provided me with these seeds has propagated many plants in Arkansas by direct sowing seeds on the surface of soil in a weed-free planting bed and waiting patiently. My real world experience has been between 5% and 10% success of growing the plant from seed. I hope I have not been unclear. Please ask if you have any questions.
